Sony Ericsson’s First Android Phone, Xperia X10 Goes Official

There you go, after the hype and anticipation, Sony Ericsson has officially announced its first Android-powered phone and the latest in its Xperia line of smartphone – the Xperia X10. According to Sony Ericsson, the Xperia X10 is only the first among the new series of Xperia smartphones that will be introduced in 2010. The Xperia X10 boasts of full social media integration and rich graphical user interface, aside from of course its support for the Open OS building on a nex UX platform.
The Xperia X10 features apps like Timescape which users can use to manage all their communication with one person in one place. This also lets users browse through their conversations in Facebook, Twitter, photos, emails and texts all in one go. Mediascape on the other hand lets users to access content everywhere including the phone itself, YouTube, PlayNow and others.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 900/1700/2100 and UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100 phone.
This smartphone has a powerful camera feature with 8.1 megapixel camera with up to 16x digital zoom, auto focus, intelligent face recognition, geo tagging, image and video stabilizer, smile detection, touch focus and video recording.
Other noteable features include – music functionality, web browsing, auto-rotate, gesture control, 3D games, video viewing/streaming, location-based services including A-GPS, Google Maps, Wisepilot, and preloaded applications.
Tech specs of the Xperia X10 include – 4.0-inch TFT touchscreen, 1GB internal memory, microSD support, and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is scheduled for release in Q1 2010.
